About six months after David Berkowitz’ arrest, 31-year-old John Carr was found dead at his girlfriend’s apartment in Minot, ND of an apparent rifle shot to the head. There was some speculation that the death might have been a murder. In 1979, Michael Carr, 27, died in a single-car accident on Manhattan’s old elevated Westside Highway.
