In Yonkers, Det. Kevin Murphy delved into the background of the Son of Sam case, and identified several associates of David Berkowitz that hung around Untermyer Park in Yonkers, NY – they called themselves “The Children.”   According to Det. Murphy’s investigation, several of these individuals were older, and generally just bad people. Many of these individuals approached by Murphy “lawyered-up” immediately – no one wanted to be implicated in this case.  Through off-the-record interviews, Murphy was able to corroborate the existence of “The Children,” and uncovered members who were involved with pornography and the drug trade.

These images are of individuals that Maury Terry and Det. Murphy believe may have had some connection to, or played some role in, the “Son of Sam” murders, and/or, had involvement in pornography, prostitution, or drug activities. Despite the fact that many of these individuals appear to be low-life scumbags, they have never been charged with any crime associated with the “Son of Sam” case, and should be presumed “innocent.”
