For those of you who don’t have much knowledge of the David Berkowitz “Son of Sam” case,  I strongly suggest reading Maury Terry’s (1987) “The Ultimate Evil.” Obsessed with the infamous Son of Sam case, Maury Terry had dedicated his life to its intricacies and had serious doubts about its conclusion. He believed that David Berkowitz didn’t act alone, that there were more Sons of Sam still out there, and that the police knew it.  Watch the Netflix trailer below. 

Documentary film-maker, Joshua Zeman, follows Maury’s trail, examining the terrifying connections and plausible clues, sending him deeper down the rabbit hole.  Zeman’s (2021) Netflix docu-series, “Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness,” provides excellent background for understanding Maury Terry, and his quest to solve this case.
